    Davis makes "Coolest" list...

Davis the town, that is. The article has been picked up by the AP and I saw it in the online paper this morning.

Wow, my mom's family comes from Davis. They used to own the opera house when it was a boomtown...when it went bust, they sawed it into 3 parts which became the family homes. Only one's still standing; we go back every 2 years to a reunion, but the old WV roots are dying out, literally...it's pretty sad.

DHing at Timberline also sucked...guess it's better in the snow if it made that list. Must be some good epic riding out there. It's amazing to see how much development has gone on in Thomas, though...turning itself into a little mountain resort gentrified community.

    hmmm

Seemed to me like any other ski town. Everybody was pretty chill out there, and pretty down with just cracking a beer and talking about whatever. Shot a commercial out there for the actual ski season for Timberline, and I dug it. Inquired about the mtb and they seemed a little ambivalent on it. Thought I was going out to do a spring/summer spot, but didn't go off, so I haven't yet ridden out there.

Snowshoe is closer anyway, but I don't DH, so neither really attract me that much.
