Calling WV Locals -- Timberline Beta?

I may have an opportunity to ride out your way soon in the beautiful Mountain State, coming from NorCal. Upon recently scouting locations, I've come across some great looking spots including the timberline bike park and surrounding area. However I also see the resort maybe facing some difficulties (link below)... Anyone have the inside scoop on this? Also want to explore Tea Creek / Snowshoe to the south. I ride everything from full face DH to climby cross country death marches. Any information you can share is much appreciated!

Timberline is closed. There is nothing there. Some sites still show them offering services and there are still companies renting out places to stay... But there are no services left at the resort.

This is second hand info gathered from the 'Timber-Lies' Facebook page, but it seems to be verified by many locals in the comments. Check their May 25th post.

Hit Snowshoe and Slatyfork (Tea Creak). You wonít be disappointed. Both have world class trails, with Snowshoe also having renowned gravity. I ride the XC trails at Snowshoe, Slatyfork and Cranberry Outback as much as I can. The terrain is very rocky and remote (Snowshoe being less remote). Snowshoe maps are available at the resort; Slatyfork maps at Elk River Touring Center; and Cranberry map at the Cranberry Visitors Center near Marlinton.

Itís some of my favorite east coast riding, rivaling Pisgah. You can stay at the resort. Short drive to Slatyfork, about an hour to Cranberry (Kennison and Pocahontas trails). Be prepared for rain and sudden temperature drops even in summer. There are other threads that discuss this area. Check them out.

There is plenty of awesome, nasty XC in near by Davis if you are still interested in the Timberline area.

Yeah, lots of good riding in the Davis/Canaan Valley area. If you around June 14-17 check out the Canaan MTB festival, low key (in a good way) intro to the area

    https://canaanmtbfestival.blogspot.com/

Also, Spruce Knob and North Fork mountain are other good rides to consider.
