    Big rocks near Blacksburg?

I'm looking for someplace near Blacksburg that has an enormous boulder field. Big rocks and lots of them. Someplace that's legal to ride bikes on-- But I would trade legalality for proximity to parking.
Is there anything like this at Claytor Lake? How about Dragons Back or Carvins cove? Any ideas you have, please let me know.

    Something along these lines:

    Perhaps

The AT between the road gravel road down the backside of Mountain Lake and the shelter in Bailey's Gap is very rocky as I recall. I'm not sure bikes are allowed on the AT though.

AT is illegal, and highly frowned upon. Please leave it to the hikers.

Are you looking for trials type stuff? The best place I can think of is Hawks nest in west virginia (new river gorge area), just underneath the dam. I have a buddy who does trials there all the time. Tons of boulders of all sizes. popular rock climbing area.
