    Berlin, Md

I go down to Berlin to camp every year ... near Assateague and Ocean City ... and do some nice road riding. I usually just bring my MTB for tooling around the campground.

Was wondering if there are any local trails I should be checking out in that area...

nope, not without driving an hour or two minimum. You're at sea level. Flat flat flat flat and more flat.

There are trails but whether they are worth it to you is debatable. Even then you are about a half hour from them without taking summer traffic into account. If you are REALLY serious about finding some flat dirt to ride PM me and I'll give you options.

Quite frankly I'd just as soon advise staying out of the woods entirely on the Eastern Shore in summer unless you really love ticks and potential lyme disease. Seriously an hour in the woods will have your legs literally covered in ticks if you stop and get off the bike at all. Plus the whole mid Atlantic is ground zero for lyme carrying ticks, not a good combination.

Yeah, that's kind of what I thought.

I guess i'll just stick to the road (and the beach) while I'm down there this summer...

There is a decent trail in Salisbury. Cant remember the name but it's near the mall. I didn't go last year when we went to OC because all the tick warnings scared the hell out of me.

Tuckahoe off of 404 might be a good place to check out coming down or leaving. The Pocomoke Y off of 113 may be a better option than Naylor Mill which is tick ridden this time of year.

Naylor Mills is the one I was talking about.
Tuckahoe is a nice place also. I go there from Baltimore, not sure how far it is from OC.

Been down here cxamping since Monday.

Got in a couple of decent road rides out to Assateague from the campground (Castaways) and one time kayaking out on the bay.

Hoping for some improvement in the weather ...
