Shimano FC-M752 crank -- which bottom bracket for 50mm chainline?

    Hi there,

    Exec summary: see title.

    Details:

In the process of bringing back to life an old bike of mine, I need some advice. I have some Deore XT components of the 750 Series and would like to get a matching FC-M752 crank. Currently there is something else and not matching that got installed as a replacement (I think it's an FC-M431) on the bike.

I don't have the FC-M752 yet. Before I go out and buy it, I would like to find out what bottom bracket I need to achieve a 50mm chainline. The bearings that still seem available as new parts here (in Germany) are BB-ES51 and BB-ES300. I realise these bottom brackets are not 'XT grade' but, I guess I would have to go along with them.

Do they both fit? What length would I need? Would anyone know or be able to point to good tech docs?

Sadly, Shimano's quite detailed document archive starts in year 2004/2005. A year earlier and my stuff would be covered... pffff.

    Cheers,
    Joerg
