I know that the Michigan-based Nuke Proof did make at least one aluminum frame: the Reactor. I don't remeber if there were others or not. The Reactor was a funky linkage forked thing of beauty. Later when they were going out of business they sold the rights to use the Nuke Proof name to Airbomb, a Canadian/American mailorder company. They sold a bunch of Asian-built aluminum frames using the Nuke Proof name.

I agree it looks great but it's not mine. It's actually from an ebay auction Rumphy posted in a Nuke Proof thread.

    They do/did...sort of.

The 'real' Nuke Proof stuff are the Ti frames, and the very few Reactor frames that are out there.

As the company was heading for Ch. 11 (or something like it) they served up a bunch of cheap, overseas built aluminum frames. They show up on eBay often and, I think sold by Price Point or something like that for a while. Just cleaning out the old stock. If you find one, don't pay much for it.

IMO, it's not really the Nuke Proof we all know and love (or hate )

I have this one, it has never been painted, (or built) picked it up a while back here in Grand Haven, MI, not far from Grand Rapids where they were made. I intended to build it, but has not happened yet... Pics. are poor, just took them, it's dark out...
I believe the onlymade these for "1 year" in 1997.
