Looking for 2000 Cannondale Super V 1000 SL information

I hope my bike is classic enough for this forum..

I recently managed to get a good condition 2000 Cannondale Super V 1000 SL. The bike has 2001 Marzocchi Bomber Z1 fork but I got the original head shock with the bike too. I am planning to keep the bike as original as possible.

It has 3x9 drivetrain and SRAM grip shift 7.0 shifers. Front derailleur is Shimano STX RC and rear derailleur is SRAM 9.0. I managed to find an old Cannondale 2000 catalog online which says the bike should have Shimano LX front derailleur and shifters and XTR rear derailleur so it sounds like the previous owner has changed some of the components. The rear grip shift is broken so I need to find some new parts anyway.

Are LX and XTR parts correct or is it possible that the bike came with different parts for different markets? I have trouble figuring out which exact LX and XTR models this bike might have had in 2000. What should I be looking for?

The bike has old Shimano DX clipless pedals which I would like to change to flats. What kind of flat pedals were typical for that time period?

    Thanks!

So, yes, those are the parts I'd expect to see on a bike at the "1000" level.

Other markets? Not sure, but I think they were roughly the same across markets.

Before you start spending money though?

That swing arm is the type that broke like crazy. It may not be broken yet, but if you ride it regularly and hard, it will absolutely fail.

"To church on Sundays"? You may be okay.

I'd inspect it well, and start your search for a tubular style rear end. They made two types, one a CAAD4 version that the upper stays were pencil thin, and a later, beefier one where the upper stays were more the diameter of say, your thumb.

Either would be a significant improvement.

Nice ride, have fun with it!

Thank you for the info. Plan has been to clean and restore the bike and hang it on the workshop wall. Maybe ride it occasionally but not hard. I've got other bikes for that. I'll definitely inspect that swing arm!
