Can anybody give me some info on this Cook Bros. Stem?

    Hey,

I picked this up at a swap. Its NOS and 1" quill. The stem is before my time, can some one tell me when it was made and if the lizard sticker should be there?

    thanks

I remember seeing them in 1992, just before A-head (threadless) headsets were the norm. Cooks also made matching cranks that looked exactly the same, so you could have matching sem and cranks.

If anybody cares this is the email I got back from cook bros.

    "Good questions Mat,
The stem was from the mid 80's .The lizard sticker is the logo of a club that myself and hand full of guys started in the VERY early 80's called the RADS.

Though a little heavy (everything was back then), Its a solid design and will provide you with years of pleasure. The quills were stainless, thus a little soft and will bend if its extended and you are getting big air. If the quill is all the way into the fork...You can jump off buildings!"

Seems like a good find for the price I paid for it.

    thanks for the help
