Really hard to top MWC, especially with First Flight Bikes now a distant memory.

Next up is probably Absolute Bikes in Salida.

I did a big loop - thereís a quicker jeep trail that halves or better the distance I couldnít use because of my rental car - when I was staying in Rifle, CO a bunch of years ago to get to Crested Butte, so I must have driven past Salida without stopping by. Drag.

Interesting that Absolute Bikes doesnít feature the collection on their website.

And yes... RIP First Flight. My pilgrimage to MWC was in part due to that collection being returned to the market after Jeffís death. Iím hoping this thread will give me a few places to add to my travel list for when the plague is done.

Iíve never visited any other VRC shops. Saturday Cycles in Salt Lake City has a pretty cool collection of VRC bikes, I think all belong to the owner. Some are on display, other hanging in the rafters. I was pleasantly surprised to find them when I went in to pick up a new chain.

    Alright, Salt Lake City.

Havenít seen One on Oneís new digs yet, but that shop was always a highlight of my trips to Minneapolis. Neat, fringe-y VRC (Bridgestone and Bianchi mainly IIRC) and the kind of curated approach I appreciate.

I don't get out much, so I'll just say, mine. Over 50 weird, random, old, antique, rare, unusual bikes, a case full of parts easily described in a similar way, and me, who's been working in it all since the early 80's.

Plus a Pandemic Puppy, so, take that, bigger fancier VRC shops in big cities!

I was surprised to find a decent collection of VRC bikes hanging in the rafters in the Springdale, Utah grocery store near the entrance to Zion National Park.
None were museum pieces, but all appeared to have been riders.

Iíve yet to see an amazing MTB collection from Japan. Road bikes a couple of times, but never MTBs.

Iím totally smitten with Bluelug and Circles though. Those are both my kind of shop.

The japanese have the best taste in bicycles and cameras.

Anyone in the UK might want to look up John Atkins Cycles in Leamington Spa. Nigel has been in the bike trade for years and has a great taste in VRC bikes. Defo has Trimble and Raleigh Tomac Ti/carbon amongst other stuff. No idea if he has them on display so maybe call / email ahead
