Al Farrell is in the wind....

Just heard that Al has passed on. He was as described in the article attached a big supporter of racing and trail access in the early days of MTB. I got a chance to hang with him at FTBW one year that he attended and he was really a larger than life individual.

RIP Al, at least you went out doing something you loved
A bike by any other name is still a bike.

I wondered about him from time to time. He was such a huge supporter of the sport and a really nice guy. He and his son would come by my expo booth and hang out at the Norba Nationals.
Sorry to hear of his passing....RIP

Al was a good friend. He accompanied me on one of my greatest bicycle adventures, mountain biking the Canol Road in Canada's Northwest Territories in 1984.

Dude was larger than life, loved everybody and everything.

Here is the story I wrote after returning from our Canadian adventure.
