    Thanks for the nice comments and the help on the photos- Nate, you can lick it (but thanks for the bars)!!

    I knew a lot of you had already seen it but I finally found some appropriate bars and the slow release was returned so I took some photos for BP's site and thought I would post them here as well.

    Some interesting points on the bike. The build has the more inexpensive options for the seat qr and rear brake, but the up charge for the fork. It looks particularly purpose-built, though perhaps not for snow riding. I like I like!

    in all seriousness, that 6a has some awesome features and couldn't be in better shape!

    what about the "other" bike you should be showing? i think that one could go over well! and i don't mean the one that looks like a beat down cruiser

    @Bob- i don't have much of a hand in it, except for giving my buddy a hard time

    I've shared a lot of the story with BP, and Nate knows it all but the bike was given on consignment to Point Reyes Bikes on April 22, 1985 from CC. On October 17, 1991 it was returned to CC from Point Reyes because they had not sold it. On November 12, 1992 after Charlie went through it again it was sold to the guy that I purchased it from. The guy I bought it from owned a shop in Whistler BC between '87 and '93. In 1993 he lost his lease on the land, and again, the bike never sold and he's had it in his garage since then. I was told that the Racer Frame, TII fork, taper stem, brakes, HS, bb are basically NOS except for a demo or two when the bike was set up in Point Reyes. Most of the other parts that came with it were used but they are the original components that CC sent with the bike when he sent it to whistler. The original invoice says that PRB's cost was $2706.75 in '85...

    I made my pilgrammage to Pt.Reyes Bikes in early October '91. That bike's got my drool on it!!!

    Cool! Do you remember how many of CC's bikes were there for sale? That would have been such an amazing time to be working in a shop like that with so many custom builders to work with. The guy I purchased the bike from had photos of around 30 of Steve's bikes + a bunch of Salsa's and Ibis's that came in as frames or frame sets and then were built up from there. He owned the shop for 6 or 7 years and he said that all they did was stock frames and they probably built 10 bikes a summer.

    I'd say there were at least 8 on the floor and I rode about 6 of 'em. Believe it or not, there were more of Charlie's bikes than Steve's when I was there.
