Which 1990 frameset should I keep?

I have a 1990 Univega Alpina Team and a 1990 Stumpjumper (base model). They both fit me. The paint is a little better on the Univega but not a lot. The Stumpy feels a bit heavier but negligible. And the Stumpy being a bit shorter in wheelbase feels a bit snappier. The Prestige sticker on the Univega means something but I don't know what exactly and how it compares to the base Stumpjumper tubing. The Univega's XT components will go the frame I keep. The DX goes on the for sale bike. I know you guys would advise I keep both as they are nice bikes and have all their original equipment but at this time, I can only have one. Help me not regret thus decision🤞
My '85 Cimarron and my '90 Alpina Team ARE mountain bikes.

Ive almost always regretted selling bikes. If I had to choose, Id keep the Stumpy w/XT.

Ride both and chose based on feel not on rationale.
WTB: Bomber Z2 1 1/8 steerer, in good to excellent shape OR bomber rebuild kit.

If you like the way the Univega rides, keep it. Prestige tubing is much better than the generic chromoly used on the stock Stumpy. There are a zillion Stumpjumpers out there, not many Alpina Teams.

As others have said, if you like the Univega Team, keep it. You can always find another Stumpjumper.

Based on the bike itself, I'd keep the alpina team as stumpjumpers are common enough to find another. However, if you like to ride of the stumpjumper more, then keep that.

Well, I priced the Stumpjumper high enough that I would have time to make a decision. It sold today and the youngster was very smiley about his new bike. That plus some MTBR advice makes me feel less bummed about letting this one go. AND THEN, my wife says, "Why'd you sell it?" I guess there is room in the garage for one more.

So did we help enough to earn a photo of the Alpina team?

I'm late to the party but you made the right decision. The Stumpjumper would be easier to sell and might bring a little more due to name recognition but I would have kept the Alpina. Bummer your wife changed her mind after it was too late. Or maybe she planned it that way.
