1981 Ritchey Mountainbike Everest Original parts help

I'm in the late stages of refurbishing a 1981 Ritchey Mountainbike Everest.
The '81catalog specs the shifters only as "SunTour thumbshifters". Iím hoping someone knows which specific SunTour shifter model was used.
Thanks for whatever help you can provide.

The shifters used there are Suntour Ratchet thumb shifters. The next iteration was the XC ratchet thumb shifter, which incorporated an aluminum housing over the ratchet mechanism, and rubberized tips to improve manipulation.

    Cool-blue Rhythm

the shifters you got on the bike on the picture are too young for the bike but quite a few other parts are also way too young
    You'll need either this shifter:

or the one that does not have the plastic cover but looks almost the same but mounted a bit higher to better clear the brake levers. The one above was available in '79 already and the other one came out in 1980 from my understanding/research.
The ones you got on the bike in the moment came out sometimes in 1983...

If it's really a 1981 Ritchey I wouldn't even go for 18-speed as I think the 12-speed looked so much cooler
And either a Ritchey Bullmoose or a stem/bar combi plus Magura grips and brake levers for the win!

    nice ride for sure!

Thanks for the info. on the ST Mighty Shifters!
I dig those Campy pedals too, perfect match to the Araya gold ano rims. I'll upload some closeups on another thread I started on the bike.

Very cool bike! But please tell me that you're not riding it with the seat post completely inside the frame (as pictured).
Each bicycle owned exponentially increases the probability that none is working correctly.
