    Gimbal for Gopro8?

Anyone here running a gimbal with a Gopro8? EIS is not enough and it seems like options are pretty limited. What are ya'll running?

Yes. Feiyu Tech WG2X with GoPro 8 adaptor. Thatís the only wearable gimbal for the 8 that Iím aware of. Iím no expert but it seems to do the job.

Why use it when it's not needed? GoPro chest mount and be done.

Because it is needed. Chest mount without gimbal on hypersmooth is not good enough. It's pretty good on the helmet as your head acts as a gimbal and works with the hypersmooth though but that would involve wearing a fullface and it's summer now... :S

Depends where you ride. I ride mostly under tree cover and all the GoPros struggle. Out of tree cover and the picture is brilliant. It's this reason I haven't bothered with the 8, that I have the gimbal above as well.

I use a Noir Matter Quark single-axis gimbal. The only thing I don't like about the GP8 is the axis roll on fast, flowy trails. This keeps the horizon level and the GP8 has enough stability already when worn tight enough. And this one isn't nearly as heavy or cumbersome as most 3-axis gimbals.

Because the Hero 8 footage pales in comparison H5/6/7 footage with a good gimbal.

    -flat horizon
    -no cropping
-the camera points at the same elevation whether youíre in the attack position descending or more upright while cruising or climbing.
    - stable in low light conditikns

The SS was designed around the H4 and struggled with the heavier 5/6/7 using their adapter.

I wouldn't recommend that anyone try to use an adaptor with the even heavier H8.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'm gonna look into the options suggested here and hopefully one will work for me. Here's one of the GoPro8 mounted on the chin. It's pretty good but yea no gimbal substitute and having to wear a full face all the time is just not very fun...

Thanks!! I figured the included counterbalance weight would help but good to know it may not.
