    new riding suggestions
Ok, I realize this is a fairly broad request but I'm looking for suggestions for new places to mtn. bike within about 30 miles of the Mt. Washington Valley in NH where I live. I like singletrack trails best and definitely don't mind technical or climbs. I'm just tired of riding the same set of trails and hoping to branch out a bit. I often ride alone if that matters.

    Thanks.

Well, the most popular areas in the valley are:

    Conway:
West side (aka Cedar Creek or Moat area, Mineral Site, Kennett time trial loop)
East side (Red Tail, Black Cap Connector, Sidehill, Sticks & Stones)
Davis Hill (aka State Line) been ravaged by logging this summer, but lots of riding there.
Redstone & East Conway - a maze of double & singletrack

    Bartlett:
Thorne Pond to Rolling Ridge to...
    Two Rocks/Pothole Falls
    Bear Notch ski touring trails

    Kanc area:
    Nanamocomuck
    Rob Brook area
Sawyer River & Sawyer Pond area

Not sure what you're into, but there's a lifetime of exploring around here. While a lot of hiking trails are not very bike friendly, some are quite good. Look at a USGS topo map and it's pretty evident which ones have potential. Tamworth, Wonalancet and Sandwich all have some fine riding. Brownfield, Hiram, Porter, and Parsonsfield in Maine all come to mind as offering a bunch of adventure riding if you're willing to look for it.
