Will my 2010 Ventana El Padrino work with 27.5+ wheels?

I have a 2010 Ventana El Padrino with a 2 x 10 setup. Really loved my Fatboy fatbike this winter so was thinking of going 27.5+ for the summer on one of my bikes. Does anyone know if my 2010 El Padrino will work with a 27.5+ wheel set? The Stans Hugo looks like a winner. Just think having a 3.0" wheelset would be a blast on the El Padrino. Here is the bike.

Since the Gordo's Chainstays are shorter than El P.. I think it might work but it's really gonna depend on the width clearance. I got to play with the Trek Stache at Sea Otter that had the new 2.8" WTB tires and those were really wide. Granted they were on Bontrager Rims that I think came in around 80mm so your rim choice is narrower and will "help". My guess would be that it will be a close tight fit.

With my El Comandante Ultimate, space is tight with a 2.3 and Flow rim. I can't imagine a 2.8 or 3.0 27.5+ tire would fit in that frame. My checkbook is telling me to fight the urge to give Sherwood a call to discuss the feasibility of a plus-sized El Padrino and running a 45mm internal width rim and 27.5x2.8 or 27.5x3.0 tires.

    Resistance is futile......

I don't have any plus size wheels/tires to try but I did measure a 3.0 x 26 dirt wizard on 50mm rims and they measured out to 78mm. I believe I measured my yolks to be 70mm. I can re measure when I get back in town.

I can confirm that the yolks on my older hardtail are 70mm of clearance.
