    Ventana: Are they still around?

I lost track of this brand.

Is Ventana bikes still being made? I went on their website and the latest addition was the fat bike back in 2014'. I haven't heard much about the brand in recent years. I rode a loaner one years ago and loved it. Soon I'll be in the market for a new bike this brand has always been a consideration.

Top notch U.S.A. made craftsmanship from what I remember.

Ventana's never been much for marketing. Our Ventana tandems have made us lifers. I even picked up an old X5 as an upgrade for my older Giant.

if you're willing to pay 3 grand+ for one of the many current carbon enduro frames, you could pay for Ventana's custom geometry, & get exactly what you'd like to see them do. but, of course you'd have to settle for aluminum.

Did you actually try it? No?! Few companies posting on FB lock their pages from public access (no FB account necessary). Give it a shot.

are you talking about clicking on the Facebook "F" in the upper left of the opening home page? when i do, it goes directly there & then w/n seconds "fogs over" & requires logging in, so i cant browse around.
how do you get around that?

What browser? Windows Edge? Chrome? In both I was able to view the FB page linked above, without any issues.

VentanaUSA is alive and well in fact.

Yes, the website is dated....small companies have a hard time managing everything, especially webpages when they don't have their hands on the reins of it as far as writing code and doing it themselves. But I digress....I've been hearing some strong rumors there's a website redesign on the horizon...

DIRTJUNKIE did you have any direct questions regarding their bikes that myself or others on this thread might answer for you?

VentanaUSA building in the good ol USA. Everything gets done under their one, well actually two, roofs. Bikes designed. Tubes mitered. Welded. Heat treated. Powder coated. Assembled and shipped all from caring bike passionate folks. Who else in the industry can say that anymore originating and shipping 100% USA?

    Cheers!

Use the web site to determine what you're interested and then give them a call. Pretty much they'll build you any bike on their web site, or an modification of a bike on their web site, or any bike not on their web site (within reason).
Each bicycle owned exponentially increases the probability that none is working correctly.

In regards to a custom build - I'd send an email but I'd think it would be too expensive and waste someones valuable time.

What is a ball park figure for a 'full custom'? there's a few frames out there that I like (DeVinci Django) but it doesn't quite tick all the boxes.

Something like a El Saltamontes in 27.5, but...
    With 110mm rear,
    75 STA,
66 HTA with a 130mm fork up front,
slightly longer reach in XL (18.3 ish),
Stays as short as clearance allows.

Basically a mini shredder bike, almost an old style 4x bike but with modern long and slack geometry. And able to handle some abuse obviously.

You really need to ask Ventana. Sounds like a full custom, which is the most expensive option they offer. I had a semi custom El Comm Ultimate built, that in retrospect should have been full custom for the changes made. I think the additional cost was about 700 for full custom. Keep in mind that if you do things like piece together components of existing Ventana models it might be less. Front triangle from one, rear from another for instance. Mine was El Comm Ultimate, different HT angle, HT off the El Salt, shorter chainstays, curved seat tube off the fat bike to accomodate the shorter stays, and TT dropped a bit for clearance.

You are not wasting anyone's time, send the email in that's what they want to hear, they'll reply back with feasibility and cost etc.
