    short profile tire

recently got an OnOne Smorgasbord tire that w/ it's 2 & 1/16th height, lowered my BB height by almost full 1/4". had a Continental Trail King 2.25. Smorg is same size. w/ the 14+" BB H of the 2010 Terremoto, it's a welcome change. some of you on older Ventana's might like this tire. shipped price is well under $30.ide
mounted on a 22.5mm inside spaced rim

Good tip, I've been on a bit of tire mission lately as well, I have found that some tires, WTB Vigilante 2.3 for example is 60mm tall on a 27mm rim. That is the same height as my 2.6 Kenda Telanox DH tire I have on my Cuervo! And for comparison a 2.3 Kenda Nevegal is 56mm tall but 59mm wide on the same rim. I also measured a friends WTB 2.4 Riddler that was mounted on Enve Rims, measured out to 57mm tall but 62mm wide, the Enve's were super wide though, like 35mm+ internal width. What I have found is when it comes to tire measurement labeling there is no consistency!

ain't that the truth. very frustrating. you really don't know what you're getting when you buy any "sized" tire. that's why i listed this particular tire/ rim combo. on the other end of the spectrum, if the Geax Sturdy 2.25 is like it was in the past, it's unusually tall, pushing 2&1/2" tall on a similar rim. worked great in Moab where you can use the extra volume to avoid pinch flats on those pesky sharp edges.
