    Rear tire clearance

Does anyone know what the maximum rear tire clearance is on a El Commandante Ultimate?

I think the biggest tire I've run is a 2.3 Nevegal on a Chivo ultimate. (650B version). Are you looking for plus size compatibility? Cuz they do have an option there now too.

    I'm considering something similar.

Is it possible to use non plus 29" wheels on the Wolfram 27.5+ bike?

I have an old El Padrino frame that I would like to trade in for a new hardtail. The geometry on Wolfram 27.5+ frame is closer to what I want than the El Commandante but I'm not interested in running 27.5 plus wheels.

    I'm almost certain that is a yes, the Commondante has a 17.33 - 18.4 Chainstay range, the Wolfram 27.5+ is 16.51" -17.58" Range. That's a 1/4" overlap.

I talked to Ventana headquarters today. The Wolfram 27.5+ will fit a 29" x 2.4" tire.

Now, do I trade in the El Padrino for a Wolfram or my X-5 for a Zeus?

YES! Both. Zeus is my all time favorite bike. Hoping to add the Wolfram this spring.
