    Vallee Bras-du-Nord, QC

This is an outdoor adventure paradise north west of Quebec City. There are two mtbiking sectors, one at the town of Saint Raymond and the other Shannahan Sector which is ~25' drive further on. I rode and camped at Shannahan. There is a small 18 site unserviced campground at the trailhead. And they have a signature trail called Nielson Nord and Nielson Sud at Shannahan that was the main reason for my coming here. If you love both mtbiking and beautiful scenery then this place is pretty spectacular. I met a great couple, Christine & Silvan from Chicoutimi QC while here, and we spent some nice evenings together around their campfire!
Vallee Bras-du-Nord offers canoeing/ kayaking, rock climbing, camping, hiking, and various accommodations including yurts & cabins...

you wont be under bike (xc bike) for at least 80% of the trails.
Trails can be ride XC mode or trail mode.

Vallee Bras-du-Nord comprises 2 trail networks. The Saint-Raymond trails look to be a mix of XC and DH. I didn't ride this network, I rode Shannahan trails which are all XC. The trail systems are about 30' apart by car.

There is camp ground about 15' from each trail system which is right on the river if you are into camping. There is a website for Vallee Bras-du-Nord that has a lot of info...

I ride a 27.5 plus bike and thought it was perfect for the black diamond/ double black diamond. Most riders I saw were on XC bikes at Shannahan.
Well worth the trip I thought, and it's 11 hrs one way for me. If I was within 4 or 5 hrs I would go multiple times a season. Looks to be some great hiking, climbing, paddling, etc too if you have family that have other interests than mtbiking. My french is basic to say the least; I know many words but when they speak back to me I'm quickly lost I can't follow the words. But there is always someone around who speaks english and EVERYONE was super nice and helpful!

This is an awesome area. Can also hit Mont-Saint-Ann a bit further to the east. Quebec City more or less sits between Vallee Bras-du-Nord and MSA. Ride both and then hit QC to see the city walls and eat poutine. There's an app similar to MTB Project or Trailforks with a lot of info. This site has some info Mountain biking - Trails - Québec | Vallée Bras-du-Nord. It also will take you to the app. As BlackCanoe says, everyone is super nice and there's plenty to do.
