Sea Otter Classic 2016 - question on recreational MTB ride

    Hey everyone,

About to register for the 2016 Sea Otter Classic.

Is the recreational MTB ride co-ed? I assume it is but the registration page has separate registrations for Men and Women.

Want to be sure that I can ride together with my fiance.

    Thanks!
    Dan

If you want a romantic ride together maybe just go for a ride without a group. The regular Fort Ord trails are accessible from the event site. You just have to watch for where the racers are riding.

Few of the trails were designed for MTB. They are mainly tank roads and some have steep but short climbs. Sand is common. Not our favorite area to ride but not bad. Dropping down Trail 41 is a favorite though. Great flow.

Sea Otter is at the Laguna Seca race track.

Thanks so you think the recreational mountain bike tour 33 miles isn't worth it?

I have no opinion on the tour. If you like group things then this could be good. However, 33 miles sounds like a lot of dirt road time. We ride alone and prefer single track and rocks. I would hate to see a cool trail to explore and be stuck on a group ride. Same reason I don't do cruise ships.
