I am interested in any information as well.
We travelled last year in Scotland and Ireland. Both are incredible. There are many beautiful mountainous areas north of Edinburgh and hour or two.
Although the Edinburgh area is beautiful, I didn't really see a lot of potential for single track mountain biking. Tying stock trails and dirt roads together though you could ride some beautiful country. I hope to go back at some point and ride beside the canal from Inverness to the atlantic.
I am sure someone will chime in with some real info on a tour. Plenty of biking going on there.

Those two links should be very useful, the first is maps, second is info.

Anyway, I spent a few months there up north, great riding. There are a few users here too from there.

When are you going to Edinburgh, how far are you wishing to travel, and how technical do you ride? It's all very well talking about the bike you have, but it doesn't say much about what you like to ride.

You can ride from Edinburgh easily enough (I live here and have trails a mile away) but you're far better travelling farther afield to ride bigger and better. Where are you travelling from?

A standard ride I'd recommend over a few days is the West Highland Way. It makes for a good two or three day ride, but will go in a day if you're a strong rider - 96 miles and about 3000m of ascent.
