Mammoth Mountain CA - June - Dog Friendly RV Park / Campground Recommendations

    Hi All,

We have planned a MTB trip to Mammoth Mountain and we plan to take and stay in our 18 ft toy-hauler and our friends are bringing their 27 footer. First time going up to Mammoth for something other than snowboarding. Not sure where to stay and need to find a place to make it our base. Will be there for a week starting our trip as early as June 4th.

Open to RV / camp areas within 20 or so miles from the town of Mammoth, or further if the location is worth it. Looking to great into some great trails, with 1 or 2 days at the lifts, prefer to get into MTB trails straight from camp if possible. Although having hook-ups would be great, we do have a small quite generator and can do without easily. Need a dog friendly spot.

Any recommendations you may have would be appreciated.

There is a nice campground at Emerald Lake, which is really close to Mammoth Mountain. I haven't stayed there and I'm not sure the of the name, but I park there when I take my dog hiking up to Emerald and other lakes near the campground and I see people camping there with their RVs and dogs. I'm not sure the mtnb park will be open as early as June 4. They still have a deep base of snow up there so it may be more like late June/early July. It's a great summer place for hiking and biking, and very dog-friendly. Have fun.
