Best trails to stop at San Antonio to Denver

I'm taking a road trip early June to visit my brother in Denver and am hoping to stop and ride some trails on the way there. I am in pretty good shape and ride a hardtail 1x9 so am mainly looking for some good single track trails. Any epic trails that are a must see?

Palo Duro Canyon is a fun ride and about the halfway point between the two cities. Lake Pueblo State Park in CO has a nice trail system also.

Well . . . I guess you're doing singletrack not DH.... but if you have any interest in lift-access trails, Angel Fire NM might not be too far out of the way.

This would not be a direct route at all . . . but if you went up 281 to Burnet TX, you could hit Reveille Peak Ranch.

Your direct route would be like San Antonio, Kerrville, Junction, Menard, Ballinger, Sweetwater, Lubbock, . . . . then, like I said, you could go over to Angel Fire....

Then again, most of the best riding is going to be close to Denver anyway. So, maybe just get up there as fast as you can!
