American Airlines cuts luggage fees for bikes

Passengers checking items including surfboards, skis and bikes will now pay standard checked bag fees instead of an oversize bag fee of $150 each way on domestic flights.

This is not a good deal for mountain bikers. Your bike only counts as a checked bag up to 50 pounds. Over 50 pounds will cost you $150 oversized bag fee.

If you can pack your bike with less than 50 pounds, good on ya!
