Wire Mesa outside Zion by Gooseberry (video)

Last month my wife and I had the chance to ride Wire Mesa, a new trail in the Hurricane, Zion, St. George area. I have ridden Gooseberry before, but my wife isn't up to that yet. I heard about Wire Mesa and it is a nice blend of terrain and not too hard for an advanced beginner.

For those who have not been there and are thinking of going:
-don't drive all the way there from Rockville/Zion. Park at the dirt lot at the left hand turn off Grafton onto Smithsonian. Then ride up to Wire mesa. Its 1.5 miles of horribly road to drive. I learned my lesson last year going to Gooseberry.
-Wire mesa is probably best ridden clockwise. We rode it counterclockwise and it was still a good ride. However the 3 A/B options were all uphill. The flow is better clockwise I'm told.
-Cell service is actually pretty good in spots.
-great views, take your time and stop to enjoy the view. It can be easy to get into that riding flow and miss a chance to see some great scenery.

Here is a video from our ride. My wife has less than 15 rides under her belt so I think she did pretty good all things considered.

Sweet. Headed to that area next week, and though I've ridden around there before, I'm psyched to add Wire to the list this time.
