Visiting Utah from So Cal this Thursday 6-24-10

Visiting Utah from So Cal this Thursday 6-24-10.

Looking to ride in a place that is neither boiling like Moab or has too much snow (Park City?).

Im open to driving 8-9 hours from L.A.

I was thinking Brian Head or Vernal?

    Thanks

Thunder Mountain, Gooseberry, Little Creek Mesa, JEM and Guacamole are the usual favorites that meet your criteria and less drive time than PC and Moab from LA. When I made my first trip to Utah I was directed to this link...

I second the recommendations above. Some of the best riding in Utah is Goose, Little Creek and Thunder Mountain area. There are several trails near Thunder Mountain as well. If you love technical riding, Little Creek is an absolute hayday! www.utahmountainbiking.com is a great resource!

I would imagine the Jem Trail would be pretty hot tomorrow. Rode it a couple months ago it was already fairly warm and there's not a lot of shade on that trail.

I would stop into Over The Edge Sports in Hurricane and buy a trail map/get some recommendations from Quentin. He's extremely familiar with that area and probably can lead you towards a trail that won't resemble an easy bake oven.

Over 100deg tomorrow sounds fairly warm to me, especially in the desert. I'd be looking for elevation!
I've been riding in Park City lately, temps are PERFECT right now, mid 70's and trails are dry.
