    Utah in mid December?

Is anywhere in Utah worth going to the 3rd week of December? I have no idea if it is all covered with snow or extremely cold.

    Thanks a lot

you can go to the shoreline trail, it gets plenty of sun, also check out antelope island, and or the area around great salt lake....BEWARE though it will be cold so dress warm especially if we are in INVERSION period

I looked up St. George...loooks pretty cool. Antelope Island look do-able.

Do you think it would be worth the 18 hour drive I would have to make? I'm thinking of playing it safe and going down to Arizona or New Mexico.

Thanks for helping me make my decision.

if it was me i would go to arizona or new mexico for two reasons
    a) warmer
    b) the air will be cleaner

but come back for sure during the spring / summer for some really awesome riding

Yes. Snowbird, Alta, Soli, Brighton, Powder Mountain...you get the point.

I was thinking more about southern Utah.

Does Alta have MTB lifts in the summer though? I've skied there and really enjoy it.

Moab is nice, but cold. Can be a bit snowy, but not likely. You'll have most things to yourself, and cheap hotels, too.

St. George is very nice, in fact that's about the only humane time to go there.

If it came down to St. George or AZ/NM, they'll all be about the same for riding that time of year. I'd go for whatever's closer to you.

Don't bother coming to SLC in the winter for biking.

edit: haha, although this sunny and 70 weather is pretty nice today. won't last though.
