    Trails-n-Tires?

On Saturday's fat guy ride, there was 5 riders, all with different tires.

How about a list of trail names with the best tire for that trail?

I'm sure my TrailBlasters won't be much good on Moab slickrock, so all recommendations are accepted.

    Enjoy,

    Chris

The fattest of the fat says...

Hey Cruizin...thanks for letting me tag along on Saturday. It was a great ride for me...first lung buster of the year.

I've had good luck on the local trails with IRC Mythos XC 2.1 tires on my hard tail. When I want a little more tire than that, I've used WTB Weirwolf 2.3 tires. They seem to work okay, but are a little fragile in the sharp rocks. I haven't much cared for Specialized tires (too vague feeling, don't hook up well) or Hutchinsons (wear out too quickly, don't have any traction at all). On Slickrock and Gooseberry, etc., the less tread you have, the better. Something with a semi slick tread pattern seems to work best. I've actually used a full slick on Slickrock before, but it's hard to find them in wide widths anymore. Anyway, that's one fat guy's opinion. Take it with a double cheeseburger!

Thanks for the ride Saturday. When you get a free weekend, give me a call...we can make a mad dash to Hurricane and ride Gooseberry...later!
