Trail Work Day: American Fork Canyon, 6/20/2009

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! URMB, in conjunction with the US Forest Service, is sponsoring a trail work day on Saturday, June 20th. We will be completing the re-route of the mud-bog portion of the South Fork Little Deer Creek trail (Trail #252) that we began last August. We will be building a turnpike through the area. We believe this re-reroute will help to eliminate the annual erosion and mud bog problems that this section of trail always seems to have. This re-route has been reviewed and approved by the US Forest Service.

Great care has been taken to ensure that this trail, including the re-route, will be accessible to ALL user groups.

For ICUP racers, this is a great way to accumulate those critical 2009 trail work points.

Please come join us, whether it is for the whole day or only a few hours. All tools will be provided. Keep tuned to this web site, or over at urmb.org, for more details as the day approaches. Feel free to PM me or send us an email via the urmb.org web site.

In case you're interested, we'll be meeting at the junction of Cascade Springs Road and Highway 92 (Alpine Loop) at 8:30 AM. We expect to knock off for the day by 3:00 PM.

If anyone wants to carpool, I'm leaving from Pleasant Grove and have room for a few.

Details over at the URMB web site.

If you have plans on joining us for the trail work day on June 20th, would you please drop us an email at: urmb [at] urmb [dot] org and let us know how many will be coming? We need to get a head count to ensure we have enough tools and donuts. Also, with the weather as unpredictable as its been, we can notify you quickly should there be a change of plans.

We promise not too sell your email or send Viagra, time share, or cheap software offers.
