    Sundance Super D info?

Anyone around here race one before?
Looks like they might be opening this weekend weather permitting.
May 29th is the 1st one.
    Mass start or time trial?
Course go down by the pond?
    Classes? ex,pro etc/age groups?

    I'll be there either way.

Just got a phone message so far.

Thanks for the info if anyone has any.

    Good job!

    Hey Kris,
I did one a few years back, it was an indivudal start. That particular year, we started on a climb near one of the lifts. Some guys rode, most pushed for 50' or so..
As I recall, it did go by the pond.
It is a pretty low key race, but fun all the same.
You'll see all types enter, from the guys on the free ride bikes to the XC race types.
The guys that had the fastest times when I did it were the latter type on Fisher Sugar's.
I remember seeing one guy on a hard tail, with his child in tow on an "alley cat".
I think it was broken down by age and gender, with two or three classes, I am sure you could race in the higher class.
Ask Mike and Rob, we all did it that year.
You might check Sundance's website for a bit more info.
    Have Fun!
    Brian

    Looking At The Map......

As I recall, it started near Ray's followed the trail to the #1, then down the road towards the pond, then it turned up around the pond, circling it. Then it came back down to the #6, to the #10 then over to #13 to #26.
I don't quite recall it from there, but the site states: the finish line is on the paved road just up from the Ski School Yurt. This takes the races across the front under the lift just above the base.

Heh i just printed that map from their site. Thanks though.

So aside from the uphill start you mentioned it looks like there's that climb up out of the pond to the # 10 on the map at the road. Lots of good 1track otherwise.I know the flatter lower twisty section seems uphill when you're tired too though.

Either way it looks fun and a good way to get the jitters out before the DV National. My goal of the summer is a podium there.I think i'm in better shape now then i have been in the last 5 years. I'll probably still get spanked but it's getting me fit just trying. Funny thing is that the 30 Mens class is damn fast! I would have been 6th in pro at Brian Head Nats but i was 8th in 30 Men!! Lots of ex racer really fast dudes in this class!! (and pros who can't descend he he)

I did the first one last year. It was very low-key but the course was really fun.
From what I heard they change around the course for all the races.
The one we did went 1,3,4,5,6,13,26,27,19,20,21.
Fastest times were around 26 minutes.
