St George for 3 days in May

After many visits to Moab we're heading further south this year. Reading through posts I see Gooseberry as a must, and weather permitting, a drive up to Thunder Mountain. JEM seems to get mixed reviews, as does Hurricane. Are there any "must-do's" that I should add to the list ? My Moab regulars are Porcupine, Amassa and Slickrock. ie nothing to gnarly. Should we aim further north or is St George a good base ?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Cheers, Sam

In May some of the other rides up by Panguitch may be open...Virgin Rim and Cassidy/Losse. In the St George area JEM, Bearclaw/Poppy, and Broken Mesa are all better with a shuttle. You didn't mention Little Creek, it is a lot of peoples favorite ride in the area. Finally, the new Barrel Roll and the old Church Rocks/Prospector aren't bad for XC rides (but not in the middle of the day, even in May). Have fun.
