    SLC area trails?

It looks like I'll be in Salt Lake for a week or more in early October. My wife is having spinal surgery there and I'll be around to help as she recovers.

Any ride recommendations for rides near Salt Lake? Also I've got a Tallboy LT and a hardtail 29+ -- which is recommended for the area?

    Thanks.

    North Salt Lake:
Salt Lake North Area Mountain Bike Trails
    South Salt Lake:
Salt Lake South Area Mountain Bike Trails
    Park City:
    Park City Area Bike Trails
Most would be tailor made for a Tallboy LT, I'd guess. Read through some of the links below for advise given to others about Park City.

Either bike will be great. Good luck to you and your wife - you have some fantastic options that are *literally* out the door of the University hospital to do quick rides, if you want to just sneak out for 45 minutes. If you have more time, early October is great up high (PC) and also lower down (Corner Canyon, BST, etc).

From the University Hospital go to the NE to Dry Creek and then climb up, follow the BST West and then come down bobsled and pedal back up to the hospital. Food is cheaper and better tasting at Primary Children's. You can also take the BSt down to the zoo or head up to the flying dog trail (ride it CCW) great fun! Bring her a blanket from home the hospital only as the cheap overlaundered cotton blankets - It's much nicer. Also pillows.

Oh and you can get cafeteria vouchers there for the cafeteria if you don't like the menu from nutrition. The huntsman also has a very good selection and guest restaurants at the the Point. Have a good time. Wish your wife luck

Come give Corner Canyon a try in Draper. It's about 20 minutes South of down town SLC and a lot of fun. Not gnarly or anything but flowy and fun with easy access to and from the trail head!

As for the Tallboy or a hardtail... it's up to you. I'd bring the Tallboy. Here's some video of what most of the trails are like.

    SLC area trails?

I got a quick spin in this morning on the BST and Bobsled from the UofU campus.

    Fun!
I brought the 29+ hardtail. Perfect for the climb, but Bobsled would have been a bit more fun on my LTc.

    Edit:
And Joyce is being closed up and moved to recovery!

Thanks for all the suggestions and support!

    Hi Jason,

I just watched a couple of your videos and like them a lot. You ride like me, it looks like. I was dead set on getting a Bronson but now you got me thinking of a 5010 before I pull the trigger. I too like a "flickable" bike that has pop. I'm in the market for a used 2016 Bronson or perhaps 5010..

I just moved to SLC and have ridden Corner Canyon a few times so it's cool to see the bike(s) I want on the trails I like to ride.

Thanks! Will watch more of your vids.

Wiggum, glad you like the channel. More videos uploaded weekly!

There is no perfect bike but I strongly suggest you get the bike best suited for the trails you ride most often.

For Corner Canyon the 5010 is without a doubt more fun and faster for me. There are very few trails in Utah where I feel I would rather have the Bronson. This doesn't make it the wrong bike for you it just wasn't the right bike for me. Both are incredible... the Bronson just likes to party at a speed much faster than I usually go. Good luck and say hi if you see me in CC!

PS, the 5010 has a lower bottom bracket so expect more pedal strikes. It isn't excessive but I though it was worth noting.

I should really test ride a 5010 before making the decision. Will seek it out.

The 5010 does seem to be rarer in the classifieds (pinkbike, ksl, here, etc).

Coming from a dated Turner Flux, anything will be an improvement!

I'll def say hi if I see you.

    Thanks.
