    The Road into Gooseberry

Da Wife and I will be riding/camping up on Gooseberry Mesa over Memorial Day. We'll be driving a 4 wheel drive pickup with good clearance but a fairly large slide in camper on it. My question: what condition is the left Fork Road in now? We'll be meeting friends who are coming in on Wednesday so we're hoping they have secured a campsite. I've been there before, just not with the camper and was wanting some beta.

    thanks!

Just rode up there this weekend and the road is in good shape. I followed an Audi sedan on the way out and he was moving pretty fast with no issues. I think you should be fine if you take it easy and it hasn't rained recently when you make the drive up.

Thanks Kristatos. If it were wet we wouldn't even try it. We'd camp low and ride higher, or if really wet find another ride.

The road in was just fine. Much better condition than 4 years ago. We lucked out and had cooler weather than normal. The Pinion Gnats were pretty serious though...
