    Recon and trail info 1-21-11

Q and I drove out to sheep bridge road and the goose road...

Upper jem (east of sheep bridge road) and gloulds still need another week of 50's and sun

The road into Goose is a mess but doable with a 4x4 and the cows are out up there

Shop ride is heading up there at 10am from the shop

Those riders who rode the JEM should be beat with a baseball bat...

Wow, I'm surprised it's taken so long for everything to dry out up that way.

Hopefully the weather will stay good thru the rest of Winter and everything will be prime when I head that way for a week or so early March.

I'll stick with my Southern AZ plans for February, after the Super Bowl.

You wouldn't be if you lived here and experienced what we did.

I pretty much do know what went down; followed the action on the weather channel and definitely remember the washing away of the houses outside of Mesquite. I live in Vegas and we had the week straight of rain (and snow at elevation) that whole week too. Got to spend some quality time on the trainer that week.

Check the picture at the beginning of the following link. It's a drainage tunnel for the wash under the road at the Cottonwood trails in Vegas that you normally can just ride right through. Amazing how much material the rains moved.
