Question on ridng conditions & weather in March

We are tentatively planning a road trip in March. What kind of weather might we expect in the following locals?

    Gooseberry Mesa
    Red Canyon/Thunder Mountain
    Brian Head (maybe)
    Caineville (maybe)

Gooseberry Mesa is typically open year round with the exception of the occasional snow, which lately has been anything but occasional. Regardless the trail drains and drys quickly and rides fairly well when wet (think a lot of sand/gravel and slickrock)

Red Canyon/Thunder Mountain is possible, but with all of the clay you'll want to make sure it's dry.

    Brian Head, not chance.

In March I'd recommend staying around St. George/Hurricane (Gooseberry) and Moab.

    Red Canyon

I hit Red Canyon a couple of years agon in mid April. Light snow storm on the drive in. Totalled out to maybe an inch or two by morning. Thunder Mountain was a freakin mess once we got on the single track. The stuff on the other side of the highway, (Cassidy, Losse, etc.) was great the next day.

Gimper, Utah is going to be on this spring. Just not for Kyle. His wife is due in late February, Lord willing. Probably not good to leave on a roadtrip the week after your firstborn arrives.

    YES SIR!

lets move the discussion on this trip to our forum.

THX monkeys from UTAH for the weather updates. Maybe we could hook up with a few of you guys if your in the area for some rides? Let us know.

Ps. I go to Moab every year for the "Easter jeep Safari" Work related. I would really like to hit up up some other trails besides the usuall's. If your interested in leading a few of us (3-4) on a ride or have directions, let me know. If you don't want to broadcast trail local, email me gimper4JC at hotmail dot com

    thx again,
