Pics from my quick stop in PC

I stopped in PC last weekend while returning from a biz trip. I got lots of great riding tips in other threads, but as is usually the case on these trips I met up with some super nice locals (Drew and Lucy) who offered to guide me around.

Did a 40+ mile epic with Drew and Lucy last Saturday and then a lift assisted ride on Sunday (my legs were fried).

    I'LL BE BACK.

40mile+ epic on Saturday... Deer Valley from Snow Park Lodge > up Tour Des Homes > over Mid Mountain > up Powerline to Shadow Lake > up Puke Hill > over Wasatch Crest at 10,000ft > down Canyons Connector > over Mid Mountain > down Spiro.

Downhill on Sunday... up Silver Lake Express chairlift > up Sterling Express lift to 9,400ft > down Sunset > down Four Point > down Deer Crest.

Now, on to the pics... (I hope they show up)

    Getting close!

Wow...40 miles is a lot when it's flat....that must've been around 3500 ft of climbing, total.

its more than that, totally elevation change is 3500 feet from thte bottom of DV to the top of the crest. when you factor in the up and down nature of the crest and mid mountain another 2000 vertical feet should be added Its big ride but quite fun, awesome views awesome singletrack. After doing ride like this 20 miles ride seem like they go so fast!!.

Thanks for the comments! Yes, it was a very big ride, but like BushwackerinPA says, the good thing is that it makes 20 mile rides look easy afterwords. Only 1 week before this ride I did a 63 mile race in the mountains of NC with 11k ft of total climbing... *that* was tough. No it didn't make this easy, especially with the elevation I'm not used to, but it helped for sure. I also hadn't done any riding at all during the week, so I was rested pretty well.

That's why I did the lift-assisted ride on Sunday... my legs were toast. Even going downhill I was having to hold back because I was so tired. I didn't want to head-butt a tree.

It was a fantastic trip and I will certainly try to go back to PC.

Spectacular ride, I love the sound of that route. And perhaps I too shall stay at the Red Stag lodge... would be a fun weekend getaway even if it's only 30 minutes from home.

Red Stag rate was a "special"

That $79 rate was some uber-special price I happened to find by CALLING Deer Valley resorts... I don't think that rate was anywhere on line. I've found that many deals in fancy places like that can only be found by calling. Winter rates are an eye-popping $350-400 for that room of mine!!

Only 30 minutes from home? I hate you

Yes, that's a good technique. We have gotten good rates doing the same in Vegas for Interbike. (but paying ANYTHING to spend time in that hellhole is a rip-off)
