    Park city camping

Hello all, was going to be taking a road trip in June and one of the stops is in park city and was wondering if there were any inexpensive places to tent camp in the area?

    Thanks steve

Not in Park City. Nearby at the Junction there's an RV park, with tent sites at $28.

    The RV park kinda sucks.

I'd drive out E. Canyon Creek (ie, Jeremy Ranch Road) to Mormon flats or thereabouts and find a nice pullout. There will be teenagers partying and rednecks. But otherwise you should be good. There's an official campground at Mormon flats that can be reserved but I don't know any details. Google can handle that, though.

You can also camp out at the Jordanelle ($) but PC is kinda crap for camping overall.

I wasn’t able to find anything immediately around Park City so I camped in the Uinta Mountains across the valley east of Kamas. It was about a thirty minute drive away. My campsite was so nice.

You could go over Guardsman Pass into Big Cottonwood Canyon for some fantastic scenery and campgrounds. Don't know the details as I've never camped there, but I do know they have (at least they used to) several spots up and down the canyon.

Edit: I forgot about the closed road over the pass in the winter and don't now when it opens. With the heavier snowfall this year the road may stay closed longer than usual.
