Park City area riding May 7-11

I wanna head up early this year to get some wheel time and wondering the thoughts on what will be rideable at that time higher elevation ? Obviously anything could happen weather wise but before I reserve a condo I want to know what the experts think if it stays relatively snow free. Thanks in advance for the help.

LOL, it could be snowing or 85F. You will have a better idea a week prior.

It's snowing right now. Yesterday it was 68 degrees and sunny.

May is typically the "mud month" in Park City. The town is pretty quite as skiing is well done with and summer activities have generally not cranked up yet. You'd be lucky to access mid-Mountain trail, even this year with our poor snowpack. Which means you're riding the lower Park City and lower Deer Valley area, which are fine if you live here but not something I'd suggest somebody travel to do. If you're in the area for some other reason, then do some rides. Otherwise I'd suggest spending your time and money by renting a car and driving 4 hours to Moab.

Thank you for all the information. I'll think of a different game-plan for that week and instead come up in July.

July should be primo. Everything will be open and rideable. Around July 4th seems to be the busiest summer week in the Park City area. Plan accordingly.

Even if we get no more snow (and it's been the 2nd worst snow year in 40 years!) you are only going to find lower elevation stuff to ride in May. I'd bet on:
    -Round Valley
    -Glenwild
    -Princess (ugh) Di
    -UOP lower stuff

Everything else will be mud or mud/snow or snow. Even those trails might be mud/snow if we have a wet spring. May kinda sucks usually.

Don't get me wrong, you can amuse yourself for a couple days no problem. But pretty much all of the best trails will be unrideable. Come in mid June or later.
