    Ogden area early October

Going to be in Ogden for a couple of days for work in early October. So far I've turned up Snowbasin as the only option nearby where I'd be able to rent a bike on a Sunday (probably my only free day to get a ride in). Any other ideas/options? Also, what about weather? I'm guessing the first weekend in Oct. is too early for snow, right?

    TIA!

Should be great and snow free! All the snowbasin area trails are great. Sardine Peak ridden clock-wise is great. Green Pond for a shorter xc-type ride.

I enjoyed Snowbasin while I lived in Ogden. You could ride the Bonneville shoreline trail after work of you have time. Lots of quick options there.

You can call Biker's Edge bike shop in nearby Kaysville, as well as Bountiful Bicycle in Kaysville for rentals. Bountiful bicycle carries Specialized and Biker's Edge carries Santa Cruz, Ibis, Salsa, Giant...maybe you should check their website for all their brands. I'd call ahead and ask what is available for rentals.
If the weather isn't good for snow basin the Bonneville Shoreline Trail is almost always rideable even one day after a big shower. The further north, the more the BST trails are on the south facing slope so they are the first to dry out. The north ogden divide section of the BST is a great trail with a great downhill finish.
