Need help regarding Canyons Wilderness Proposal

As a past SLC resident for 20years (1976-1996), I use to frequently ride the Crest trail from Guardsman Pass. Under the Utah Wilderness proposal
The Wasatch Wilderness and Watershed Protection Act (H.R. 2808)
Would the route from Dog Lake trail to top of Millcreek parking be permanently closed to bikes? This was always a great trail route from the Crest trail. Any help here is greatly appreciated.

First map I could find https://wasatchwilderness.files.word...utes2013-1.pdf makes it look like most of the major routes would be unaffected.

I'd have to assume, though, that if nothing has happened with it 2.5 years after being referred to a subcommittee, it's maybe dead in the water?

Thank you! This is most helpful. Of all the trails I have ridden in the west this is one of my all time favorites if not just for the views.

I have left my input regarding what I have found out so far. SOC has assured me that the Wasatch Crest and Dog Lake Trails will not be affected. But then again, many white men in the past have spoken with forked tongues.

I am in contact with Davey Simons of the STC regarding this possible issue.

    See Wilderness proposal map:

I don't think this is going away by any means. Vail Associates purchased PC and The Canyons resorts and wants to expand operations into the Wasatch. Vail is evil! Too many folks have forgotten what Earl Holding did to get the 2002 Olympics held at Snow Basin. The under-the-table back room land swap with the National Forest Service was a scam and an embarrassment to the public at large.

From everything I have read and seen it looks like the proposed wilderness designation will not affect any current bike trails in the area. It looks like it could be a win-win. We keep existing trails open to ride and keep it from being developed by anyone in the ski industry (see: One Wasatch). I am all for what SOC has proposed, assuming nothing changes.
