    Mormon Pioneer

Anyone been in the Little Dell area lately? Wondering what kind of shape the trail is in. I assume the upper portions are not ready yet, but maybe the lower sections soon?

Also wondering when Killyon Canyon usually dries out? Within the month perhaps?

    only on the road

Based on the looks from the road - it's probably OK from Little Dell to the outhouse where it crosses the road. After that it tends to be quite muddy in stretches in the Spring. The road isn't open yet, and in fact, was still covered with snow about a mile from the top (as of last Sunday). The lack of traffic makes for some wonderful road riding, though.

    is good

Okay, if anyone's interested I decided to see how it was today.

Started down at Little Dell, I was able to to ride much further than I thought. Three down trees right above Affleck Park were the only obstacles on the lower parts of the trail. In fact, it was just about bone dry until the last half mile. Right at the switchbacks is where the drifts start. Pretty much hiking at that point, but great until then.

edit: Judging by this, I'd assume Killyon Canyon isn't too bad either right now. Maybe I'll check that out next week.
