    monticello riding?

Is there any good riding around Monticello in late december? I'm driving from denver to PHX & looking for a ride around midway. Could stay a couple of days if it's good. Open to other suggestions too.

Not sure, but if you are that close, why not Moab. I think there is a bit of good riding there

Why not moab? Because I go there all the time & looking for something different & possibly a little warmer.

I really have no idea to be honest, that being said, Monticello is going to be colder and snowier. It's at 7500k ft where Moab is at 4k.

Well, there is always Sedona. Or you could just high-tail it to PHX ride there or use the extra time to head down to Tucson. Not to far from PHX and the riding there rocks.

How about Cortez? There's Phil's world and Sandy Canyon. Not too sure if that's out of your way. I assume you know about the good riding in Sedona. Not sure if Flagstaff trails will be covered with snow by then. I thought Sedona was way more fun than Flagstaff

Monticello is usually under many many feet of snow all winter. And during the summer the riding is minimal and shitty at best.

Thanks, I'll check out the conditions around Cortez & Moab before I leave, & may just have to go all the way to Sedona.

I've ridden in Moab on Christmas, and hope to again this year. I just depends on the conditions that day/week.

Stop in Moab and ride all the new trails north of town: EKG in the Klondike area, North40, Deadman's/Long Branch in the BarM area.
    OVER the rocks, not around
