i was in running a 10k in moab last december and when we visited a few areas (arches) had some small amounts of snow on the ground but we were able to hike it with out issue. So if you dress warmly you could probably ride just be aware you probably will be the only person out so pack accordingly

I think the answer depends on what kind of winter. Last winter, many of the trails were under snow/mud and it was cold and cloudy. I think Amasa Back and Slickrock are pretty dependable but even those were difficult to ride for much of January & February. Obviously, higher trails like Porcupine Rim are down longer, but then again I hit a bad winter.

La Nina forecasts a dry warm southwest.

Usually there is something to ride....last year seemed to be a 30-50 year snow event for southern Utah, so if that happens again bring out your skis and hit the La Sals!

i guess i'll just have to play it by ear and check in right before a trip if we decide to head out during the winter.

    Rim Snowed Out?

I hear the Rim is currently snowed out. Could be clear in a couple days? Updates?

Amasa is a pretty safe bet, and a very cool ride.

If you're open for 10 hours, have a driver with a cooler, hit the White Rim.
