Is May too early for good SLC & PC riding

I've been in Moab for a few weeks now and am thinking of moving up to SLC or PC to catch the end of lift service and get in some spring skiing.

Just wondering how the riding is in those parts in May? Are most of the best trails up in the mountains and still snowy or muddy?

fwiw, I'm a good int/adv technical rider - ride anything here in Moab with a few drops here and there that I don't mind walking down.

almost all the good stuff here is still snowed in, and will be for a while longer. There are a few decent rides that are clear, but they are few and rather crowded ATM.

Bonneville Shoreline Trail, Corner Canyon & Lower Millcreek are you best early season bets in SLC.

LCC Tanners to Quarry is good too, so you could ski and ride the same day, even the same hour!

Glenwild, Round Valley, Lost Prospector area, Moose Hollow, 24-7/Bob's Basin, plus all the valley rides are good to go. So enough to be entertained for a couple of days but not enough that I'd plan a trip for tomorrow or anything.

We'll have quite a bit by the end of the month, barring a big storm.

Thanks for the feedback all. Based on that, I'm going to skip the skiing idea and just stick with warmth and riding until summer ramps up. So probably going to head east to Fruita/Grand Junction after another week or so in Moab. Cheaper for me too (camping and lift tix), so not all bad.
