    July Trip to Park City

My girlfriend and I are trying to plan out a biking trip to Park City as we are both off the week of July 4.

We were looking for trail recommendations(alpine or flowy or just fun) ? Skill wise we are intermediate riders not looking to push boundaries on vacation. Are their lifts/shuttles available? Those would be a nice treat on vacation. I've read that shipping our bikes to a local bike shop and having them build them can be preferable to flying with the bikes as luggage. Anyone have any experience either way?

I saw this thread and Park City seems like a great destination.

Check out www.utahmountainbiking.com for trail information. If you're an intermediate rider, I'd highly recommend the Mid Mountain trail. Start at the top of Deer Valley resort and head West, Northwest. It's a fun meandering trail that skirts the 8000 foot contour above Park City. You can either do it as an out and back or there are a myriad of opportunities to drop down to the city. You can take a free bus up to the top of Deer Valley or park at the bottom and pay to ride the lift up. Plenty of other trails as well but this is a good place to start.

There are a ton of threads with trail recommendations already out there, do a quick search. Long story short: there are a ton of intermediate trails, there are a ton of chairlifts if you don't want to pedal up, you will not be bored or run out of stuff to do. Have a blast!

Oh, and if you're just here for a few days/week, I'd just rent bikes at Jan's or something. Shipping/assembling your own rides will end up costing more and being a way bigger hassle. Just throw some shoes, helmets, and pedals in your bags and rent.
