IMBA in SLC - Trail Building Class with great teachers

    Hi all -

Just in case you aren't on the IMBA email list - the IMBA trail care crew is in town next weekend (may 30 - June 1), and anyone with an interest in trail construction should try to make one or more of the scheduled events.

FWIW - Anna and Jason (the IMBA trail care crew), are very pro-freeride and pro-cool trails. They have a lot to say regarding stunts, integrating multiple skill levels and other things that regularly cause problems for local crews. Also, they can both ride the heck out of their bikes and understand the value of a high-challenge trail. Many of the WAFTA crew attended their class last year in Price, and the information garnered there has been very valuable in subsequent local trail development.

    The Schedule:

    Friday
1:00 - 4:00 PM: Trailbuilding School classroom session at the Old Mill building in Tracy Aviary, Salt Lake City. The Tracy Aviary is located inside Liberty Park at 589 E. 1300 S. You must enter Liberty Park from 900 South and follow the one-way circular loop around to the aviary located in the southwest corner of the park.

5:00 PM: Social at The Bayou, 645 S. State Street. Cajun food and drinks!

    Saturday
9:00 AM - 4:00 PM: Trailbuilding School field session at Killyon Canyon, top of Emigration Canyon. Meet at the trailhead in Killyon Canyon at 9 am sharp. Parking is extremely limited, so please plan on carpooling.

6:00 PM: Social at Fiddler's Elbow, 1061 East 2100 South.

    Sunday
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Trailwork at Killyon Canyon.

That's rad they are working on Killyon...a short but under-rated little trail. Definitely some cool possibilities for trail building in there.

Yeah, and Anna and Jason are RAD. Kick a** riders, really fun and super smart. A class with them is well worth your time.
