I want to invite you yahoos to the Tetons.

    To ride.
    And drink beer.

Here is a brief synopsis of what we are trying to do (more to come)

    UPDATE:

So, I went to a planning meeting last night for the first "Wydaho Bicycle Rendezvous'.
Here is the plan that appears to be emerging. Friday, July 23rd, meet and greet and register at 'The Hub' (center of operations). Free beer, swag bags, wristbands and whatnot will be distributed. A few rides will go out that evening (it is light until ~9:30 then). There will be a band and some sponsor events.

Saturday there will be a meeting at 'the hub', and riders will go out to a variety of trailheads for informal group rides. Likely rides will be Horseshoe Canyon, Big Hole Crest traverse, Red Creek, Aspen Trail, Teton pass (both DH and XC) and rides at Targhee.

That night there will be a bash at the Spud Drive In, with bands, music, food, trails demo, a showing of Teton Freedom Riders, and other mayhem. There will be a bike 'circus ride' from Drigggs to the Spud and back. There will be camping available at the Spud, Grand Targhee, and hundreds of FS options. There will be an open raffle for that night, it appears that we are in talks with Giant, Smith, Giro, Rocky Mountain, Titus, Grand targhee, and others. PLEASE contact me if you are interested in sponsoring this event!
Sunday will have a few options. There is a DH race at targhee for the gravity crowd, but riders can ride the lifts to ride 'Sticks and Stones', which is anotehr great DH. Registrants will get (I believe) a day lift ticket, or possibly a very cheap two day (working on that). Sunday will have a raffle for attendees only with more swag, and I believe a frame giveaway.

Titus has stepped up huge, they are a title sponsor, and will have a full demo fleet. Attendees will be able to demoTitus, Giant, Rocky Mountain, and Haro bicycles.

Registration will be $25.00 for the whole event, lots of free beer, great riding, music, movies, demo bikes, and beer.

I couldn't pull off a dedicated endurance DH 'event' , but that's not to say one might not spontaneously happen...

We are also considering having day-care available so families can come, and other activities for non riders. There will be some kid events, dirt jump skills clinics, women's clinics and rides, pump track clinics, all sorts of wheeled fun.

    What do y'all think?
(links to come, website being built this week)

Oh, just a bonus mention...it is usually dry, and in the lower 80's during the day, and in the 50's at night. GREAT time to get out of the heat! Rivers to camp by in the shade (for free) with views of the grand, fishing, dirt biking...you know...

You can 'ride the Log' as many times as you want, big guy!
Yup, Jimmy's Mom, Crater trail, Powerline, Parallel, Lithium, Blacks, Phillips/Arrow, all part of the show.

Slightly OT, but I may be up there in a few weeks. What can I expect to be rideable?

Try to get up there for the July stuff as well.

    Thanks,
    B

In a few weeks a lot of the lower elevation trails should be rideable, like:
    Cache-Game
    Putt-Putt
    Ferrin's
    Nemo's
    Horseshoe Canyon
    Aspen Trail
    Possibly Red Creek

    Give me a shout.
