Gooseberry weather in Nov & Dec.

What is the weather like in the Gooseberry area around Thanksgiving and around Christmas. The 2 times I have been there has been around the 4th of July......and very hot.

Goose is great in November and December. Very rarely it will get a light dusting of snow, but not until January or February. The temps should be in the low 60's or high 50's in December. I camped out there last weekend, and it got up to the high 60's on Saturday, after Friday's rain.

You mean the "moisture emanating from the clouds." Some Rio sure sounds good about now.

I was referring to the rain from friday morning, not the mist that we experienced that evening!

Thanksgiving 2004, Gooseberry and Little Creek had a little snow, but both were rideable. One thing to be aware of was the the road up to Gooseberry from south of the mesa was very muddy, I was fortunate to have a good truck to make it up the mesa.

Once on the trails, I made sure that I had everything that I needed, becuase I was all alone and there was not another rider except for day two on Little Creek I ran into some local guys from St. George.

Just hit Gooseberry today and it was absolutely beautifu! However, I'm sure the weather could chanage rather rapidly up there if something were to blow in.
