    Do Pugsleys work out here?

Does anyone here own a Pugsley? Are they useful enough to have one out here to do some winter riding? I've been commuting on my SS Karate Monkey which I ride fixed now that its all snowy. I can ride ok on packed snow, sidewalks, etc no problem but it has made me wonder how much better really wide tires would be. Would I be able to ride through thicker stuff?

Fatbikes like the Pugsley will perform better than pretty much any other bike on sand or snow, but they meet their match on deep, dry sand or deep powder. I've ridden mine a lot on sand in southern Utah, and on snowmobile tracks in the Uintas.

If you're riding on ice, studded tires work better than wide, low pressure ones, but it's hard to beat a Pug on packed snow.

Your profile still lists you as being in GA, by the way.

Edit: I added some pictures. The third one is a cell phone shot from Alaska. We were on a groomed skate ski trail and I don't know the rider.

{Principal Skinner} Hmm. Whoever did this is in very deep trouble.
    {Martin} And a sloppy speller too. The preferred spelling of 'wiener' is w - i - e - n - e - r, although 'e - i' is an acceptable ethnic variant.
